My best pro tip I can give you is to repurpose. In a previous video (earlier this week) I had made 3 donair meatloaves. Iโm not going to eat donairโs five days a week, so instead, we are going to try another recipe with it. We are going to repurpose the donair. This recipe takes only 5 minutes to make, itโs super easy and super delicious.
For this recipe, I gave you some tips:
-
Making a donair loaf only costs you around 6-7 CAN dollars. So when making these loaves you will be able to get more than a couple of meals
-
When grocery shopping the best way to save money is to buy certain ingredients in bulk packaging, my favorite place to go do this is Costco
-
Check the ingredients, watch out for processed foods that contain ingredients such as nitrates, monosodium, and glutamate
-
When using donair meat there is always room for extras!
Ingredients
-
Donair Meat (leftovers)
-
Turkey
-
Butter Lettuce
-
Sourdough bread
-
Spanish Onion
-
Beefeater Tomato
-
Donair Sauce (make your homemade sauce here)

Letโs Get Cooking!
We want a nice warm, and crispy sandwich, so first we are going to turn on our pan to medium/high heat and put our bread (3 pieces) in the toaster. Then we are going to take out our leftover donair loaf, and we are going to thinly slice a couple of pieces. The donair meat is going to act as the โbaconโ in this turkey club. Once you have the number of slices that you want you are going to place the pieces in your heated up frying pan and brown each side.
While the donair is sizzling, you are going to take out your toasted bread (3 pieces) and get the sandwich ready. Because this is a recipe that we are using to repurpose, instead of mayo, we are going to use the donair sauce we made- delicious! – and you are going to spread the sauce into all the nooks and crannies on your pieces. Now that you have your base you are going to add your turkey, then your lettuce, your tomato, onion, and top with your second piece of bread.
Your donair meat should be nice and crispy by now, so you will remove the donair and put it on top of your second piece of bread. One more tomato slice, a bit more onion, and a little bit of lettuce.
There you have it! A sweet and savory, maybe a little unusual, but still delicious, Donair Turkey Club Sandwich.
